Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of MassAI. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

1. What MassAI is

MassAI is a personal training assistant powered by AI. Its coaching, chat (including optional voice dictation), workout and recovery plans, nutrition insights and recipe suggestions, and photo analysis are generated by third-party artificial-intelligence models (currently OpenAI's) from the information you give it, not by a human trainer. It helps you plan workouts, log training, track nutrition and recovery, save recipes, and converse with an AI coach. It is software, not a person, not a doctor, not a registered nutritionist.

2. Not medical advice

MassAI provides fitness guidance based on the information you give it and on evidence-based hypertrophy principles. It does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting a new training programme, changing your diet, or beginning a supplement, especially if you have an existing medical condition, are pregnant, are injured, or are recovering from illness or surgery.

Listen to your body. If something hurts in a way that isn't normal training soreness, stop and seek advice. You are responsible for your own training and nutrition decisions.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to use MassAI.
• You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe.
• You agree to provide accurate information when asked (weight, height, goals).
• One person, one account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Try to bypass our rate limits or scrape the AI for bulk responses.
• Reverse-engineer, copy, or resell the service.
• Upload anything illegal, abusive, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Upload sexual, explicit, nude, or otherwise inappropriate images in any photo slot, or upload an image of another identifiable person without their consent. (See "Photos you upload for analysis" below for what belongs in each slot.)
• Use voice notes to record or transcribe someone else's words without their consent.
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.

We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

Photos you upload for analysis

The Master Planner has two optional photo slots, and the rules differ:

• Current-body photo: upload only a genuine, non-sexual photo of your own body. Do not upload a photo of anyone else in this slot.
• Goal or reference photo: you may upload an image of an adult physique you are aiming for (for example an athlete, model, statue, or character), but only if you are entitled to use that image. You confirm that you have the right to submit each reference image for a single, private analysis and that doing so does not infringe anyone's copyright, privacy, or other rights. Never upload an image of another identifiable person without their consent, and never upload an image of anyone under 18.
• Every photo is automatically screened before our AI analyses it, and the image itself is never stored: it is sent to our AI provider for that single analysis and then discarded (our provider may retain it briefly for abuse monitoring, as described in our Privacy Policy). Anything we cannot clear is blocked before analysis. Suspected illegal content, including any sexual content involving a minor, is blocked, may be reported to the relevant authorities, and will result in immediate account termination.
• You are responsible for the photos you choose to upload and for making sure you are allowed to use them.

5. AI output

AI responses are generated by a large language model. They can be wrong, outdated, or oddly worded. Treat them as a knowledgeable training partner's opinion, not as gospel. We do not guarantee any specific result. This includes recipes and meal suggestions: always check the ingredients yourself for allergens, alcohol, or other dietary or religious restrictions before eating something the AI suggests.

6. Your data

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of the content you create. You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to operate the service for you.

7. Subscriptions & billing

MassAI has a free tier plus one optional paid subscription, MassAI Coach, which unlocks the additional AI and coaching features shown on the upgrade screen.

• Plans & pricing: MassAI Coach is £14.99/month or £129.99/year. The current price for your region is always shown in the app before you confirm, and that displayed price is the one that applies.
• Payment: subscriptions are auto-renewable in-app purchases sold through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
• Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• Managing & cancelling: manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does NOT cancel a subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.
• Changes: if we change subscription pricing or features, we'll show the new terms in the app before they apply to you; price changes follow Apple's rules and may require your consent.
• Free tier: we may set reasonable usage limits on free accounts to keep AI costs sustainable.

Note: deleting your MassAI account does NOT automatically cancel an active App Store subscription; cancel it separately in your Apple ID settings to stop future charges.

8. Changes to the service

We're actively developing MassAI. Features may change, be added, or be removed.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings (or by emailing us). We can terminate or suspend an account that violates these terms. On termination, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MassAI is provided “as is”. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or training injuries arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under English law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

11. Apple App Store

MassAI is distributed through Apple's App Store, and the following applies to that download:

• This agreement is between you and the operator of MassAI only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for MassAI and its content.
• Your licence to use MassAI is limited to a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for MassAI.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for MassAI. If it fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); otherwise any warranty claims are our responsibility, not Apple's.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to MassAI, including product-liability, regulatory, consumer-protection, and intellectual-property claims.
• You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, except where consumer protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
